Matt and Abby are aboard a flight home, when a hijacker takes over the plane, dragging a stewardess with him, at gunpoint, into the cargo hold. There, as he's about to kill her, the swamp thing bursts from a cargo crate to save her. When the plane lurches, hijacker and Swamp Thing crash through the bay door and plummet to the sea.

The following morning, Swamp Thing washes up on the beach of an island nation. There he's found by a tribal priestess and a mercenary who are planning a revolution against the island's dictatorship.
